Course Description

We are surrounded by amazing medicinal herbs, mostly they are what we call weeds! We will be meeting and learning about the most important plant allies. Connect with the natural world as you learn to identify and gather edible wild.

Immerse yourself in hands-on experiences, guided by seasoned experts Margaret who will teach you essential skills for sustainable foraging.

Delve into the fundamentals of plant identification, seasonality, and habitat exploration. Gain confidence in harvesting, preparing, and cooking your findings, as you uncover delicious flavours and other benefits hidden in these “weeds”.

In this course will we explore

  • How to recognise them, the virtues of the plants, how to harvest them sustainably and safely aand make remedies from them.
  • Together we will make Rosemary Gladstar’s famous fire cider – the perfect remedy for winter ailments
  • Making herbal remedies at home – a masterclass on how to make herbal teas and infused herbal oils
  • There will be plenty of time for discussion and Q and A

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced forager, this course will deepen your connection with nature and open up a world of medicinal as well as culinary possibilities.

Facilitator

Margaret Palmer (MSc Herbal medicine) is a Herbalist, Naturopath, Iridologist, Aromatherapist and Complementary Medicine practitioner with decades of experience in the natural health field.  Wild about herbs is her holistic medicine clinic based in rural Monaghan in a beautiful peaceful cabin.

Margaret specializes in empowering people to take care of their own health, through her fun, hands-on workshops on herbs, whole food cooking, and crafting natural skin care and personal care products. She also lectures at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Dublin
