Join us for our one-day “Root & Renew” yoga retreat at Síolta Chroí, our retreat and ecosystem restoration venue.

With Spring in full swing, we invite you to take time to root yourself in the fertile ground and renew yourself at Síolta Chroí, via a day of grounding, restorative and gentle yet energising yoga, meditation and breathwork practices, enhanced by nature connection on the regenerated farmland.

You can expect Kundalini and Vinyasa yoga, pranayama, mantra meditation, yogic philosophy and yoga nidra, as well as nourishing organic vegetarian food.

These combined practices will help to renew our mind, body and spirit while reconnecting to the ecosystem around us and the strong roots we already have that enable us to hold steady and dance amid the storms that life throws at us.

The practices are suitable for all levels of yoga experience, including beginners. You can expect fully guided sessions tailored to meet you exactly where you are, allowing you to work within your own comfort levels, inviting curiosity, choice and encouraging autonomy throughout each practice.

Our costing explained 

Síolta Chroí is a social enterprise which means we want to generate profits so that we can reinvest it to support the work of ecosystem restoration across Ireland and international.

We want to make the courses accessible for as many people as possible while paying our facilitators a fair wage and supporting Síolta Chroí’s work.

The cost of our workshops are €80. We understand however that this might be above the financial means of some people. That is we offer a sliding scale of three different prices for our courses.

They are:

  • €100 if you can afford it and want to contribute to support another person with less disposable income take part
  • €80 the cost of running the training for the day
  • €60 if you want to take part but don’t have the disposable income.

This includes a light lunch from vegetable from Síolta Chroí’s garden.

The Facilitators – Karen Jeffares and Leigh Brady

Karen Jeffares

Karen is a devoted mother, experienced yoga instructor, and educator.  Through yoga, she fosters wellness and mindfulness for her students that she hopes can serve them in their daily lives. Karen’s nurturing spirit leaves a profound impact on all she encounters. She has a strong passion for human rights and peacebuilding and worked in conflict and post- conflict settings before moving to Monaghan with her husband and setting up Síolta Chroí, an environmental organization dedicated to ecosystem restoration.

Leigh Brady

Leigh is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, mindfulness facilitator, human rights activist and busy devoted mama. Leigh is passionate about many things including presence, embodiment, empowerment, heart-centred living, holding safe space, and individual and collective liberation, as well as truth, justice, equality, equity and peace. She has worked for 18 years supporting human rights and human rights defenders in the Global South. She believes in and practices a grounded spirituality, based on the tenet that “we must rise rooted”.

What is a yoga retreat?

A yoga retreat is a structured getaway focused on yoga practice, relaxation, and rejuvenation. This retreat will take place in the Monaghan Irish country side

It will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves fully in yoga, meditation, and healthy living practices.

The Yoga retreats will include:

  • Yoga sessions: Yoga classes led by experienced instructors. They will cover various yoga styles,
  • Meditation and mindfulness: It will  incorporate meditation sessions to help participants quiet their minds and deepen their practice. Guided mindfulness activities will include cultivating present-moment awareness.
  • Nature based activities: We will spend time in nature activities such as nature walks,
  • Healthy meals: Nutritious organic meals will be  provided as part of the retreat package, promoting overall well-being and supporting the yoga practice.
  • Free time: Participants will have free time to relax, explore the surroundings, or engage in personal reflection.

This yoga retreats cater to individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, and will offer a supportive and nurturing environment for personal growth and self-discovery.
