Background

Deirdre is an experienced transformation and programme leader with more than 20 years’ experience delivering complex change across financial services, utilities, insurance, higher education, technology and digitally enabled organisations. She has led large-scale transformation, remediation and operational change initiatives in complex, high-scrutiny environments, often where strong governance, clear decision-making and disciplined delivery are critical to success. Her background spans end-to-end programme and project management, including portfolio mobilisation, governance design, delivery planning, risk and dependency management, stakeholder alignment and executive reporting. She has worked comfortably at board and executive level, helping senior leaders bring structure, clarity and control to complex programmes while maintaining momentum and focus on outcomes. Alongside her delivery expertise, Deirdre brings significant people leadership experience. She has led multi-disciplinary teams, mentored and coached colleagues, supported career development and performance management, and helped teams build stronger delivery discipline and confidence in demanding environments. Her leadership style is practical, calm and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on developing people, strengthening accountability and enabling others to succeed.

Deirdre holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification and has completed a Higher Diploma in Leadership Development, alongside qualifications in business studies, library and information studies, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours).
