Bring your group to Síolta Chroí

We regularly welcome groups to Síolta Chroí for learning, nature connection, team building, and shared experiences. Set on our beautiful 2-acre farm in Co. Monaghan, our unique space offers a chance to step away from the everyday, reconnect with nature, and explore new ideas together.

Whether you're an NGO, a University, a business, or another team, come to learn, be inspired, and leave feeling more hopeful about the possibility of creating a better world.

I would bring every group that comes to our island and comes from our island to come and experience what Siolta Chroi has to offer and what SC challenges us to think about and act for. We were welcomed with warm open arms, we were seen, heard, nourished and invited to contribute further. An uplifting, and mind opening experience allround.

Development Perspectives knows and acknowledges the integrity which Síolta Chroí brings to their work. To see an applied practice. To not only talk about the issues and challenges which Global Citizen Education explores but to see action in place can be inspiring. I would say that Síolta Chroí is a unique organisation, which offers something different and valuable. Addressing how we as communities engage with food and agriculture is crucially important. Development Perspectives will continue to work and collaborate with Siolta Chroi. We will also recommend others to do likewise. Working with people that genuinely care is always inspiring.

Siolta Chroi hosted us for an excursion day (as part of our study abroad course) to explore the impact of colonization on the food systems of Ireland and Turtle Island. Gareth arranged a tour at the local workhouse museum where our students were able to make specific links to land dispossession, forced monocultures, deforestation and starvation. He weaved this experience passionately with the work on the farm itself, demonstrating how communities can, and are, reclaiming land and foodways to restore both soul and soil! We've continued to partner and learn from Síolta Chroí and look forward to another visit in the future!

I was looking for an environmental project as a field trip for international development students from Maynooth University. I wanted to give them exposure to alternative thinking and practice around the contemporary environmental stewardship. The practice of Síolta Chroí, the actual implementation of environmental ideals on a very human scale, tangible and accessible. Síolta Chroí was excellent, very approachable and knowledgeable team who enthusiastic to engage….. The Student evaluations were very positive about the experience and the insight that they took away from the trip, and impressed that people could choose a different path and make a difference. The field trip was one of the highlights of the summer school each year. Definitely a win for the student experience.

Nature-based workshops

We were looking for a way to bring our team together that felt meaningful and different from the usual team-building activities. We wanted something that would help people slow down, connect with each other, and step away from the day-to-day work environment. We chose
Síolta Chroí because of the combination of nature and wellbeing as it felt like exactly what
our team needed. Our goal was to strengthen relationships and create space for open
connection, which can often be missing when everyone is busy. It felt like a great opportunity
to reset as a team and spend quality time together in a really positive setting.

Síolta Chroí was welcoming and relaxed the environment felt. The collaboration felt very natural which allowed people to engage in their own way. What really stood out was the balance between reflection and hands-on activity.
The guided reflection created space for meaningful conversation, and then being out on the
farm, planting potatoes together, made it a shared experience where we were learning and
working as a team. It felt authentic and everyone was included.
