Background

Deirdre has worked in the not-for-profit sector since 2015 with multiple NGOs, primarily in project implementation and management, youth advocacy, development education and philanthropy funding. She has held roles in project and funding management and on the operational side of NGOs, reporting to boards on financial and governance matters. She is no stranger to collaborating with international partners on projects across Europe, Vietnam and Tanzania. Deirdre currently works for a consulting company that supports government ministries and agencies overseas with their strategic plans.

Approach & philosophy

Deirdre believes that strong financial stewardship is the quiet foundation of any organisation pursuing meaningful change. She sees her role as treasurer as making sure that Síolta Chroí's resources are channelled where they will have the deepest, most lasting impact — on the land, in the community, and across the wider movement.
