What if farming could work better for farmers and the land? Our hope is simple: That farmers can make a fair living from farming, while leaving their farms in a better condition for the next generation than when they inherited them.

Síolta Chroí are delighted to invite farmers from Tyrone and the surrounding areas to take part in a 6-week introductory course in regenerative agriculture and agroecology. The course starts on Thursday 4th of February 2027 from 6pm to 8pm and running for 6 weeks. There is no cost to the farmer to take part.

This course is for farmers who are interested in exploring different ways of farming one that benefits them and their land.—
Regenerative agriculture looks at how we can farm in ways that build soil health, increase biodiversity, improve ecosystem function and create more resilient farming systems, while also supporting the farmer's livelihood.

We know farming is not easy. Many farmers are facing rising costs, increasing pressure on farm incomes, changing weather patterns and growing demands on their time. You are doing one of the most important jobs in society and still find yourself needing to work a second job to support yourself and your family.

An important question to ask is, is there another way? We believe there is because we are working with the farmers doing it.
At Síolta Chroí, we work with farmers across Ireland and internationally who are exploring and putting regenerative approaches into practice. You will hear from some of these during the course.

What will you get from the course?
Over six weeks, we will introduce you to the principles and practical ideas behind regenerative agriculture / agroecology.

The course will provide an opportunity to:
• Explore the principles of regenerative agriculture and agroecology
• Learn about soil health and building healthy, living soils
• Explore biodiversity and how it can support productive farms
• Look at ways of reducing reliance on expensive external inputs
• Consider farm resilience in the face of changing weather and markets
• Learn from farmers already putting regenerative approaches into practice
• Connect with other farmers from Monaghan and the surrounding region
• Think about how these ideas might work on your own farm

You don't need to consider yourself a "regenerative farmer" to take part. You might be very cynical you are very welcome. This is an introduction and an opportunity to explore what might be possible.

Whether you're curious about making changes on your farm, looking for ways to reduce costs, improve soil and biodiversity, or simply want to meet other farmers and have a conversation about the future of farming, we'd love to have you join us.

The course is open to farmers at all stages and is designed to be practical, accessible and relevant to real farms.
