Grow more of your own food with our 9-month Homesteader Course. Gain practical skills, confidence and support to live more self-sufficiently

Would you love to grow, make, and produce more of your own food, and become more self-sufficient? This nine-month course at Síolta Chroí will give you the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to get started.

Whether you’re new to growing food or already have some experience. In a small, supportive group, you’ll learn how to plan and design your land, grow vegetables, create a food forest, improve your soil, save seeds, keep animals, and make more of the foods you eat, from fresh bread and dairy products to fermented foods.

The course includes six practical, in-person training days at Síolta Chroí, with lunch made from the land, eight online webinars covering a range of homesteading topics, and five one-to-one mentoring sessions with a member of the Síolta Chroí team.

Over nine months, you’ll build your skills, learn from others and get ongoing support to help you put what you learn into practice on your own land, garden or growing space. By the end, you’ll have a clearer plan and greater confidence to grow and make more of your own food, and take practical steps towards a more self-reliant way of life.
