Description

Discover the power of seeds in creating a sustainable future at our Seed Saving Day, an engaging event rooted in the principles of the Erasmus+ “Soil Soul Society” project. Held at the eco-centre and farm, this day-long gathering invites youth workers, educators, and community leaders to explore how seed saving connects soil health, personal well-being, and community resilience.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities, workshops, and discussions that highlight the importance of preserving biodiversity and traditional knowledge through seed saving practices. The event will:

  • Educate: Learn the basics of seed saving, including how to select, harvest, and store seeds for future use.
  • Inspire: Explore the cultural and ecological significance of seeds and their role in fostering resilience.
  • Empower: Gain practical skills to incorporate seed saving into community and youth projects.
  • Connect: Collaborate with like-minded individuals to exchange ideas and build networks for collective action.
  • Equip: Receive resources and tools from the Soil Soul Society project to support ongoing seed saving efforts.

As part of this event, we disseminate the impactful results of the “Soil Soul Society” project, providing participants with innovative educational tools and resources that blend environmental education, citizenship education, and elements of soulcentric development. This unique approach helps foster a deep connection to the natural world while empowering individuals to act as stewards of both their communities and the environment. Through these shared insights and practices, attendees are equipped to inspire transformative change in their personal and professional contexts.

Seed Saving Day is more than just a workshop; it’s a celebration of life, diversity, and the power of small actions to make a big impact. Join us in planting the seeds of change—both literal and metaphorical—and take part in shaping a future that honors the connections between soil, soul, and society.

This activity is a multiplier event, part of the Erasmus+ project “Soil, Soul, Society – holistic approaches for youth development,” a Cooperation Partnership funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, between Dreams for Life from Romania, Siolta Chroi from Ireland and KobieTY from Poland.
